Appeal Court Affirms Gov. Abiodun’s Election

The Appeal Court has affirrmed the election of Mr. Dapo Abiodun as the Governor of Ogun State.

Mr. Abiodun of All Progressives Congress (APC) was confirmed winner of the gubernatorial election by the Court on Friday (today) following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s announcement in March.

He won the election ahead of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Mr. Ladi Adebutu and Mr. Olubiyi Otegbeye of African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Meanwhile, the governor has taken to his X account (formerly Twitter) to express his gratitude to his supporters in the course of the election.

“I sincerely wish to convey my deepest appreciation for your unwavering support throughout our journey. Today’s triumph at the Court of Appeal not only validates the authenticity of the mandate you bestowed upon us during the last governorship election but also demonstrates the strength of our unity,” Governor Abiodun posted.

He pledged to improve the economy of the state and the general well being of Ogun people.

The governor said: “Our administration remains committed to the advancement and socioeconomic growth of the Gateway State. Through our Building Our Future Together Agenda and #ISEYA mantra, we will tirelessly strive for the betterment of every individual living and working across this great state, ensuring prosperity for all.”

He thanked the Ogun residents for believing in his administration’s leadership – and added that with their help, the state will continue to forge a brighter future.
